Last week, in our post Leaders: Take Care, we talked about the importance of taking care of yourself and finding ways to refuel so that you can live with energy, success, and satisfaction.
Since, then, we’ve heard from some of you that you’re feeling too overwhelmed somedays to go through the the steps from that post. We get that and we thank you for sharing with us.
To support you today, we’re sharing a simple practice—looking for what’s neutral.
We appreciate Rick’s recognition that, at times, life can feel too hectic to think of things to be grateful for. When that happens, looking for the neutral can be helpful.ful.
Rick Hanson recommends,
“Let neutral things be without prodding.
Acknowledge the day-to-day, ordinary moments
without needing to make them more interesting or exciting.”
The next time you’re feeling too drained to practice of reflecting, reframing, and restoring, consider taking a moment to look for what’s neutral.
By learning to sit with the neutral parts of your day, you prevent your mind from needlessly creating suffering or craving, and you may even find that you have space for some gratitude!
