September can be a time of year for many, when vacations are over, kids are back to school, and the feeling of summer’s expanse is fading. This may have some of you asking, “Did I spend my time on the things that matter most to me?”

To help you with that today, we’re sharing a great foundational exercise called Life Priorities.

We’ve found that identifying and reflecting on your life priorities can help you in making more intentional decisions and ultimately feel a greater a sense of purpose and satisfaction.

Knowing your life priorities
and reflecting on them regularly,
can increase your chances
of creating the success
that matters to you.

A few notes about the Life Priorities exercise:

  • If this is the first time you’re doing this exercise, we recommend that you set aside 30-60 minutes in a space where you’re able to think big, dream, and wonder.
  • If you’ve done this exercise in the past, you may want to review your answers again. As we all know, life changes over the years, and sometimes as a result, so do our priorities.
    • We’ve found that redoing the full exercise can be quite helpful.
    • Alternatively, you may decide that you want to just look at your final top list and consider whether or not you’d reorder, delete, and/or edit any of them.
  • The life priorities exercise can also be a wonderful activity to do with a personal or professional partner or even your whole family!

The Life Priorities exercise is a simple way to explore what you want in your life going forward.

Your priorities will ground you in what matters to you, support you as you start planning for your future, and guide your actions as you move forward toward your vision of success.

Consider taking time this week to name and claim your priorities. Let us know what comes up for you!
