“Darkness cannot drive out darkness,
only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate,
only love can do that.”
– Martin Luther King Jr., Strength to Love, 1963

Over these last days, months, and years, the shift by many from fear to hatred is accelerating at a fever pitch. Just as it was in 1963, this quote is timely yet again.

Today offers each of us the opportunity to lean into healing ourselves and our communities. When being established as a federal holiday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day was designated as a day of service—a day in which we’re not supposed to just take time off from work, but rather we’re asked to use our time to better the communities in which we live.

Today we encourage you to do at least one small thing to use your love to enhance your own community—whether that’s within your family, your place of business, or your community at large.

Let our efforts today render this quote unnecessary in future years.

How will you enhance your community today?
